Message from the competition secretary.

It has been noticed that on Sundays people have not been entering the competition on the computer and then leaving their card to be entered afterwards. This will not be tolerated anymore. If you do not enter the competition on the computer before you go out to play your score will not be entered  afterwards. You are also obliged to put the date, the comp name, your handicap and the players and markers signatures on the cards. Failure to do this will result in disqualification.

Midweek Open Competition every Wednesday

To book a tee time, phone 01 820 0797 or you can book online

A current CONGU / GUI handicap is required to enter open and semi-open competitions. Computer entry in the Club House

Computer check-in and score returns:

Pay the green fee (and enter the 2s if you wish) in the Pro Shop in the Clubhouse. Completed cards should be placed in the Competition box beside the Computer in the Club House. Please make sure your card is signed, has your correct handicap and the name and date of the competition. Visitors – please ensure that your Home Club and GUI number are clearly recorded on the card.

Sign in on the Computer in the Club House before your round – use your GUI card or your GUI number.

Following a review of competitions by the competitions committee in relation to, the winter of 2016

(12-14 hole competitions),

and also competitions played year to date (2017), there is an anomaly in terms of numbers per class.

Currently there are on average over thirty players in class 2 but only 10-15 in class 4.

(we have on occasion had less then 10 players in class 4)

As the handicap cuts for class 3/4 are the same the fairest solution to this is to merge classes 3/4

and increase prizes accordingly.

The new Breakdown will be:

Overall winner         €50 voucher

Class  1    winner   (1-12)    €40   Voucher

Class 2   winner   (12-18)     €40    Voucher

Class 3/4 merged (19-28)    €40   Voucher

This merger will be implemented this Sunday 30th April.

There will be no changes to the prize structure on Wednesday’s as it is the one division only in terms of prizes.
